Hello and welcome to Schnauzer Babies. My name is Sarita. We are located just south east of Dallas, Texas. We take great pride in bringing the joy of a Quality Miniature Schnauzer to other families. Miniature Schnauzers are the perfect all around family pet.
They are very intelligent, very adaptable, non shedding, a great watch dog and the most loving dedicated companion you could own. The miniature schnauzer breed is much more than a shed-less house pet. With so much expression in their eyes, you forget they are a dog!
AKC Inspected 6/19/2008
Many or should I say most schnauzer owners either have more than one or when their pet has passed on they will consider having none other than another mini schnauzer. Beware to look into the dark little almond shaped eyes of a schnauzer.....you will fall in love and be hooked from then on. If you have never owned a schnauzer, it will take you all of 5 minutes to become a schnauzer lover for life.
We are not a large kennel or a puppy mill, just a regular family raising an outstanding breed that we adore. There is nothing better in life than having a job you love! Our dogs are given top quality care, one of the highest quality foods on the market, daily NuVet vitamins, regular vet care as well as monthly heart worm & flea preventative. Our babies are raised in our home, under foot, well socialized & loved. For me and my family, this is a labor of love that we thoroughly enjoy. Over the years I have hand picked our dogs with top priority on producing the best quality schnauzers with well rounded even temperaments & good health. We want you to have a dog you can enjoy for many many years. We are not only dedicated to our dogs but to our customers for the life you own one of our Schnauzer Babies.
We specialize in Black & Silver, Liver (aka Chocolate) and Parti colors in the Miniature and the Toy size. All of our Miniature schnauzers & Toy Schnauzers are registered with either AKC (American Kennel Club) or APRI (America's Pet Registry, Inc) or are duel registered with both registries. We also have some Champion Lines & show many of our dogs in the APRI Confirmation Show Ring. Showing is not only fun for the entire family but a great way to interact with our dogs as well as keeping us on our toes as a breeder to continually strive for the best quality pets.
We wish you all the best in your search to find your new 4 legged friend. If I can be of assistance in helping you in any way, please don't hesitate to ask. I know that shopping for your next 4 legged family member is a daunting task. I will always return your calls or emails so don't hesitate to contact me. I hope you enjoy browsing our site and WELCOME to Schnauzer Babies!
Building a trusting relationship with a breeder is a very important step in picking out your puppy. If you are feeling pressured to buy or are given "sales pitches" by a breeder, FIND ANOTHER BREEDER. A good breeder has the puppy's best interest at heart and takes a strong interest in pairing puppy with new owner. If you are happy with your new puppy (as oppose to being talked into a certain puppy), you will convey that happiness to your new puppy and he/she will feel loved & in return be just as happy as you. Creating a long term win win situation is our goal. Help stop the abuse of puppy mills by educating yourself on where your puppy came from. Here is a link to show you what a real puppy mill is like: http://stoppuppymills.org/inside_a_puppy_mill.html Purchasing a puppy that came from a puppy mill (such as a pet store) helps keep that puppy mill in business. If you have ever seen one of these farms, it is an imagine you will never get out of your mind. The abuse is sickening to say the least! We are obviously not a puppy mill! The definition of a puppy mill is most importantly how that breeder cares for the dogs. While the amount of dogs a puppy mill owns is usually high in numbers (100 or more dogs) it is not the most important factor that deems them a puppy mill. A person that owns 1 or 2 dogs can be just as abusive as a puppy mill. Most importantly, it is the over all care the dogs are given and the breeding practices of the breeder that qualifies one as a good breeder or a puppy mill. A puppy mill type breeder has little to no investment in their dogs, they can afford to sell the puppies priced extremely low. Once you have ever seen a puppy mill situation, it is not one you can easily get out of your mind. When you find a good breeder who proudly introduces you to the parents, their lifestyle & care will be obvious. Puppies should be clean, groomed, socialized & willing to play with you and litter mates. Our dogs are well cared for & truly loved. We do not sell our puppies to pet stores, pet brokers or in litter lots to any organization including private individuals & are selective of the home they go to. We truly enjoy spending time with our dogs. Our dogs are cherished by us and such an important love in our lives each having their own unique personality. They are given regular baths and grooming, regular vet care, all are up to date on vaccines, worming, heart worm preventative, flea preventative and teeth cleaning. They are never left outside to the elements of mother nature. They all spend time in our home and have their own space with heat and air. They are NEVER forced to live in cages, they have a huge fenced play yard. We introduce all our visitors to the parents of the puppy they have come to see. We are very proud of them and don't mind showing them off! We offer references on request including our vet contact information. The references I give are not only local families that have been to our home but also people around the country so you can hear how their long distance and or shipping experience was with us. Most of our dogs are AKC registered which subjects us to yearly AKC inspections. I am a member of a local Breeders Club (PCBA) which a vet inspection is amoung their requirments for membership. We strongly encourage our customers to have their new puppy spayed or neutered and are now selling most of our puppies on spay/neuter contracts instead of limited registration.
Exciting News about our most recent APRI Conformation Dog Shows March 2008 & May 2008
Showing with APRI may not be as prestigeous as AKC but we learn alot, ineract with our dogs and most importantly we have fun. APRI does not require the dogs to be stripped which is painful and realistically has no purpose. Unlike AKC, any color that is recognized on registration within that breed, has the right to be shown with APRI. Dogs are not competing against one another but instead are evaluated individually against the breed standard. The owner/handler has no bearing on how the dog is scored. Showing gives us that outside prospective to help us continually improve our breeding program. Aside from the knowledge we gain, the hard work of continual training & maintainance really pays off when we get to have so much fun at the shows. I can't leave the subject without mentioning my 13 year old daughter. She is showing several of our dogs herself & has been doing great. I am so excited about her participation & accomplishments.

Champion Titles/Scoring System
Champion = A minimum score of 90 % awarded in 3 seperate shows. Of which only 1 qualifying score is credited towards a Champion title when dog is between the age of 6 - 12 months. Dogs must be 12 months of age to continue acquiring points towards their Champion title. Prominent Champion - A minimum score of 94 % awarded in 3 seperate shows, but only after Champion title is achieved. Par Excellence Champion = A perfect score of 100 % awarded in 3 seperate shows but only after Champion title & Prominent titles are achieved. Parade of Champions is an "Invitational" for Champions only. 1st, 2nd & 3rd place awards are given per breed group. First Place winners of each group then compete for Top Dog. This is the "Only" show throughout the entire year that cash prizes are awarded.
Paris - At only 9 months old, Paris acquired one leg towards her Champion title as well as scoring a perfect score of 200 out of a possible 200. This score gave her an additional leg that will be credited towards her Par Excellence Champion Title once she gets to that level in her show career. This is not an easy accomplishment, especially for a dog competing in the "Puppy" category. We are taking her all the way to the top in 2008. Stay tuned for show results late September.
